2 Cups flour (whole wheat or all-purpose)
1/2 Cup wheat germ (raw or toasted)
4-5 T bacon grease or margarine (I use bacon grease - more flavorful)
1 egg
1 tsp brown sugar
milk, water, broth or gravy (I use water)

Optional - add: 1 to 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Mix first 5 ingredients together (along with garlic powder)
Add enough liquid to make a stiff dough
Roll out 1/2" thick and cut with cookie cutter
Bake for 325 degrees for 35 minutes
Let cookies air dry - store in air tight container

Large batch ingredient quantities (5 batches - 6 cookie sheets)
2 pounds bacon (grease from)
1 jar wheat germ
Use 4 T. bacon grease per batch

I've had this recipe for years - the original calls for "oleo" and this year when we baked, my niece wanted to know what oleo was.  When I would fry up bacon, my first flat-coat Boomer would stand by the stove and drool (a lot!), knowing that she would get bacon and that dog biscuits were in the making!  Enjoy.  Jeanne
